Our MOST POPULAR day trek. The Make Valley Trek provides the best of both worlds, creating a perfect blend between adventure and relaxation. This stunning 90-minute ride is the perfect duration for beginners - experienced riders after a scenic trip through Queenstown's very best nature without stressing about time.
The Moke Valley trek takes you on an exciting journey through varied and ever changing terrain, including sprawling valleys, lush farmland, and along the shores of the tranquil Moke Lake. As you ride, you'll be treated to stunning views of the surrounding iconic Southern Alp mountains, with opportunities to pause and take in the scenery from different vantage points, perfect for capturing a special moment on camera. The route also includes crossing glacial streams and rivers, while navigating through native alpine bush, adding a touch of adventure around every corner.
The pace of the ride is gentle and calm (walk only), allowing for all riders and abilities to enjoy and soak up the beautiful scenery through the ears of your trusted friend. Beginners are welcome and will be supported by our knowledgeable guides. They will ensure that the trek is both safe and enjoyable, sharing stories and insights about the local environment, wildlife, and the history of the area.

What to Bring
Please dress to the weather conditions and temperature.

Long comfortable pants, suitable sturdy closed covered footwear (no large heels, crocs or sandals permitted), sunscreen/insect repellent.

A water bottle and sunglasses are also recommended.

A phone or small camera is recommended to capture your memories (your responsibility).

We provide helmets and wet weather jackets if required. Helmets are worn at all times when riding a horse.

Moke Lake is approx 20mins from Queenstown CDB, Allow travel time between activities. Gravel surfaces are to be expected, plan accordingly.

Check in time 15 min prior to ride departure (we do not hold any rides so please be on time)

Min age 8 years old. All children 16 years old and under MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Max Weight 95kg. The well being of our horses is important, clients may be weighed at check in and then you will be introduced to the horse that best suits your riding ability and weight.

For the safety of all involved, ALL clients must understand and be able to communicate in ENGLISH for the entire duration of any activity as a safety requirement. No refunds are offered in the event you are turned away due to a breach in this policy.
